Andrew Freedman leads Communications Sector research at Hedgeye, covering Internet, Media, Cable, and Telecom, and also co-heads the firm's Software Sector. His work has driven several high-profile long and short calls across major platform companies, including Netflix, Meta, and Google. Andrew was early in identifying the end of Netflix's growth runway, as well as the peak of the digital advertising cycle in October 2021 and its subsequent bottom in January 2023.
Andrew joined Hedgeye in 2014. Prior to assuming his current leadership roles, he served as a Senior Equity Research Analyst covering U.S. Health Care equities, with a specialization in Health Care IT. In that role, he developed deep expertise across electronic medical records, population health, value-based care, telehealth, and related segments.
Before joining Hedgeye, Andrew played a key role at Clearbrook Global Advisors, where he focused on asset allocation, risk analysis, and investment manager research.
Andrew's research approach combines proprietary high-frequency data trackers with detailed industry modeling and fundamental analysis, forming the foundation of his differentiated, process-driven investment insights.
